Whole Life: Health & Wellness That Honors God

Over the past three weeks, we have had the privilege of gathering for our Whole Life: Health & Wellness That Honors God Connect Class series. More than simply discussing physical health, this series challenged us to think biblically about caring for every aspect of our lives as faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us.

We began with The Temple Within, led by Kristi Swartzentruber of KS Holistic Wellness. Kristi reminded us that our bodies are not accidental or insignificant—they are gifts from God designed with purpose and dignity. Participants explored how exercise, nutrition, and rest are not merely lifestyle choices but acts of stewardship and worship. Through practical insights and biblical encouragement, we were challenged to identify unhealthy habits and pursue rhythms that honor God with our physical health.

In week two, Whitney Dunagan, Dietitian at Decatur County Memorial Hospital, led Eating Healthy on a Budget. Whitney demonstrated that healthy eating does not have to be complicated or expensive. From meal planning and grocery shopping strategies to reading labels and preparing simple meals at home, participants received practical tools to make nutritious choices that fit real-life budgets. The class offered encouragement that healthy living can be both attainable and sustainable for individuals and families alike.

We concluded the series with Managing Stress & Anxiousness, facilitated by Barb Lecher, School Counselor. Barb helped participants recognize signs of stress, fatigue, and anxiety while exploring healthy ways to respond. Through discussion of boundaries, Sabbath rest, prayer, and supportive community, attendees were reminded that God has not called us to carry life's burdens alone. Instead, He provides rhythms of rest and resources that strengthen our resilience and help us experience His peace.

We are incredibly grateful to Kristi, Whitney, and Barb for sharing their expertise, wisdom, and hearts with our community. The series was filled with meaningful conversation, practical takeaways, and valuable content that participants can apply immediately in their daily lives.

At All for One Ministries, we believe discipleship touches every area of life. Thank you to everyone who attended and engaged in these conversations. As we move forward, may we continue pursuing lives that honor God not only spiritually, but physically, emotionally, and relationally as well.
